Stunning set of 8 light oak dining chairs, model CH33 designed in 1957 by Hans Wegner and produced by Carl Hansen & Son.
The model CH33 chair was designed in 1957, and produced for the following 10 years by Carl Hansen and Son. Production of the CH33 resumed after 45 years, making the original model CH33's produced between 1957 - 1967 rare and highly collectable.
The chair frames are constructed out of solid oak, with a soft, soaped finish - providing the chairs with a tactile and minimalist look. The soaped finish gives the chairs a raw and natural appearance, perfectly contrasted by the rich, original leather upholstery in a deep brown colour.
The backrest is gently curved offering fantastic support, with visible joins to highlight the masterful craftsmanship of Carl Hansen, a feature visible on a large range of the chairs Wegner designed during this period - such as the Model CH23 and CH30.
A fantastic set of dining chairs, with stunning ahead-of-its-time design, making the perfect fit for a modern dining room. A truly rare set fit for any collector of midcentury design!
Each chair features the Carl Hansen makers mark to the base of the seat.
