Exclusive set of 4 Model 4340 dining chairs in beech designed in 1943 by Hans Wegner and produced by Fritz Hansen.
The model 4340 dining chairs is an early version of the well known 'Heart' chair by Hans Wegner (Models FH4103 & FH4104). A 3-legged version of this chair can be seen in the Christian Holmsted Olsen book " Wegner - just one good chair".
These stunning dining chairs feature a solid beech frames showing gorgeous, warm patina throughout. The original tan leather upholstered seats further emphasise this patina, with the rich, milk chocolate colour perfectly complimenting the beech frame.
Each chair features the Fritz Hansen makers mark to the base of the seat, confirming the authenticity.
The chairs were developed early in Wegner's career, a period where he would collaborate with Fritz Hansen using a variety of new processes such as the use of laminated plywood.
This design was never officially in production, but would go on to inform the design of the model CH20, beginning production in 2005 by Carl Hansen.
A set fit for a collector of all things midcentury, superbly rare and eye-catching in design.

The chairs are 100% original, apart from a light clean. The chairs are in outstanding condition for theor age with some signs of use and wear as expected.

Delivery Schedule

Delivery of furniture and large items are carried out in our own vehicle and all items will be securely blanketed and strapped down during transport
For small items that are sent by courier DPD or PARCELFORCE, we will normally send your order to you in 3 business days. International orders are generally received in under 10 days.
You must inform us within two working days if the goods are lost or damaged in transit so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem. Please quote your order number in all correspondence.
