Vintage 'wishbone' chair, also know as the CH24 chair, in solid oak and original black laquer finish with traditional woven papercord seats, designed by Hans Wegner in 1950 for Carl Hansen & Son.
The chair is one of Wegners most iconic chairs, and furthermore one of the most recognisable classics of mid-century modern Danish design. The chair is constructed using traditional cabinetmaker techniques, ensuring a strong and stable frame, with light and ergonomic hand crafted finishes.
The chair features its original black laquer finish, creating a striking contrast to the light, natural tones of the papercord seat which has been re-woven to ensure maximum durability. The cord used is a 3-ply paper twist, lasting up to 40 years with proper care.
The black paint has started to wear on the arms of the chair, revealing the solid oak frame underneath.
The wishbone chair is the perfect accent or occasional chair, commanding any space with its iconic design and form, yet due to its slim frame its suitable for any room. The chair makes a fantastic addition to a dining suite or even as a desk chair, with the curved back and supportive arms.
A true Danish design classic.
