Impressive vintage rosewood CADO system designed in 1960 by Poul Cadovius.
Designed in 1960 by Poul Cadovius, System CADO is a fully modular shelving system allowing the user to fully customise the shelves and cabinets to best suit their space. The system relies on the veneered wall panels which, once fitted to your wall, allow the shelves and cabinets to be hung in any configuration that works for you.
You can quickly move the shelves or cabinet, add more at a later stage even divide the system into 2 or more individual sections to fit into alcoves beside the chimney breast.
The system was carefully removed from the previous owners living room, where it has been since it was originally purchased in the 1960s. Thankfully, the system has been shaded from the light during its life so features much less fading than other systems of a similar age.
At 236cm in height, the wall pannels are the largest that were available for CADO, creating a striking look when mounted to the wall. The rich rosewood grain is very appealing with stunning colour and patina throughout.
This system comprises of:
4 x Identical wall panels measuring 93 inch / 236 cm in length
3 x Large base cabinets measuring 18 inch / 46cm in depth
4 x Shelves at 12 inch / 30cm in depth
1 x Deep shelf 18 inch / 46cm in depth
1 x RARE angled magazine shelf
2 x Shelf mounted lights
1 x Glass fronted display cabinet
1 x Drop front bar cabinet with locking door
All cabinets and shelves are 31 inch / 80cm wide
A fantastic option to fill out a wall in your living room and add some effortless midcentury style with excellent practicality. The system creates a stunning focal point and background for your collection of books, records, glass or ceramics.
