Modular wall mounted shelving system in vintage teak designed in 1952 by Kai Kristiansen and produced by Feldballes Mobelfabrik.
Designed in 1952 by Kai Kristiansen, the FM System features a sleek and minimalist appearance, with practical modular design allowing for great customisation of the system.
This particular system features 2 large cabinets, a large shelf/desk of the same depth and 2 smaller shelves. Each component in the system measures a standard 86cm wide, meaning that once the wall-rains are mounted, cabinets and shelves can be easily moved around to find the perfect orientation for your space!
Whilst identical in dimensions, the cabinets each have unique functions. The first cabinet features a lift up top and opening doors at the front, designed to take a record player with easy access to the top. The underside features further storage, alongside a light box allowing you to easily illuminate your record player. The second cabinet features sliding tambour doors, effortlessly sliding open to reveal dividers ideal for storing records, alongside a larger space with an adjustable shelf.
The shelves included (1 x 46cm deep, 2 x 24cm deep) offer further storage and displaying options, either for books, ceramics or other collectables.
A fantastic addition to the modern home, adding some gorgeous midcentury design and practicality. Ideal for use as a media unit in the living room, or even as extra storage / a small desk in a bedroom
REF TWU699
The system is in excellent condition after a gentle refurb, finished with teak oil to nourish and protect the wood.
