Make a bold statement with this extraordinary vintage Danish banana-shaped sofa, a true mid-century masterpiece. Crafted in Denmark using traditional cabinetmaker techniques, this exceptionally large piece showcases the timeless quality and design integrity for which Danish furniture is renowned.
The whole sofa is built with traditional materials, like quilted cotton wadding & wood shavings with a coil sprung seat. Due to the sofas impressive size, a steel sub frame is used to ensure stability and strength
The sofa offers superb comfortable seating as the coil sprung seat ensures long-lasting comfort and durability over webbing or other seating support types.
The elegant kidney-shaped silhouette wraps gracefully in a continuous curve, offering both sculptural presence and inviting comfort. Upholstered in its original cream wool, the fabric has a soft, tactile quality that complements the warm, organic form. The sofa rests on discreet, solid timber legs with a dark stain finish, emphasizing its floating, cloud-like appearance.
This rare and substantial piece is not only a functional seating solution - its a sculptural centerpiece that embodies the sophistication of 20th-century Scandinavian design.
Once upholstered in your choice of fabric, this kidney sofa will be a real show stopper, looking fantastic form all angles with its chic and curvaceous design! Labour costs for the re-upholstery for this sofa would be an estimated £1,000-1,500 (plus cost of fabric).
