Verner Panton floor lamp | Panthella | 1971
Vintage Panthella floor lamp with large white acyrlic dome. 1971 design by Verner Panton.
Designed for Louis Poulsen in the early 1970s, the space age Panthella floor light is one of the designs which epitomize the 1970s.
The hemispheric shade is made of moulded milky-white opal acrylic, the lamps light source is hidden under this and by the fluted stand and beautifully reflected off of the trumpet-shaped base.
The lamp's switch mirrors the hemispheric shade, being a little hemispheric button popping out of the base.
This lamp can be place almost anywhere in a room, from the corner to between chairs or sofas.
Condition: Good, there are minor signs of age related wear.
The dome light shade has scratch marks visible on its top, see images.
The different elements of the light have discoloured but this is without doubt a charming characteristic.
