Sabre leg table | Hans Wegner
The most iconic of dining tables designed with light yet sturdy crossed over legs.
This table was purchased in the early 1960s from a UK supplier of Danish furniture and has been used in several location around the world as the owners moved and always brought it along.
This stunning table offers so much more than just somewhere to sit and eat.
It is a conversation piece, investment piece and decorative combined in perfect balance.
The brass bar is as practical as it is beautiful, supporting the drop leaves when they are up, providing stability and holding the legs together in the cross position.
The leaves are locked in their up position by the clever tap on the bar which 'catches' the eye on the end of the bar and to fold the leaf down all that is needed is a simple lift of the bar to 'release' the eye.
The table is teak with oak legs correct for the Hans Wegner pieces of this time.
