Vintage kidney shaped settee with coil sprung seat
Elegantly curved 1940s kidney/shell shaped settee made using traditional, very robust, joinery methods.
This shapely settee would work brilliantly in a bay window. Or perhaps it would be best appreciated in the middle of a room so it could be viewed from all angles. The medium height of the back means that it is ideal to divide a room.
The dimensions of the settee offer a great amount of seating for the space that it takes up.
The settee offers low but excellently roomy and supportive seating. The shape of the seat ensures good lower back support and a firm seat is created by the springs. The coil springs push against the seat so it where it has gentle curves it will always have gentle curves.
Curved settees like this work wonderfully at parties as guests are gently turned in towards each other.
The settee stands on dark wood legs in a curved 1940s design and sits firmly on the floor.
Condition: Good with some signs of age and use. Original upholstery is clean and odour free.
