Gloriously minimalist vintage rosewood table
A strikingly simple rosewood lounge table.
The coffee table's design is exceptionally minimal as well as functional and this is from where the piece's beauty derives.
The table hides two melamine/Formica -covered pull out trays at either end. One of these, the black tray, performs as a usable surface extension. Whereas the other tray, red in colour, is a compartmentalized drawer.
Six of the eight compartments in the red tray are visible through the plate of toughened / tempered glass inserted into the table top. These are ideal for storing your beautiful but hard to display artifacts / trinkets. The two compartments that are invisible, whilst the drawer is closed, are rectangular in shape and also very practical as these, larger spaces, could be used to store the unsightly remote controls, or other small items, you might like/need near you whilst on the settee.
Executed in Brazilian rosewood each facet of the table displays some of the extraordinary grain patterns to be found in this endangered wood.
The elegantly tapering legs and the stretchers between are solid rosewood whilst the table top is constructed in another solid wood but covered in a high quality rosewood veneer. This piece would make a fantastic addition to any modern setting.
Condition: Good, this is a vintage and used piece so shows signs of age related wear. There are multiple light scratches over the table top, small dents to the legs and tiny stains in places. The beveled edge glass plate also has one scratch to the underside. And compartmentalized drawer the red Formica has been stained with black ink. None of the wear distracts from this unique coffee table.
