Colourful mid-century rise and fall Danish pendant light
A vintage rise and fall Danish pendant ceiling light.
The large shade is made from aluminium which has been formed on a mandrel. Underneath the large shade is a cut conical shape which shelters the bulb to produce a softer light.
The exterior of both parts of the light are powder coated in gloss (shiny) red.
The interior of both parts of the shade are powder coated in matt white which reflects the light. The white coloured inners and the shape of the shades make this a particularly good light to hang above a dining table or in a porch.
The egg shaped case which houses the rise and fall mechanism is in black plastic as is the ceiling rose.
The light is brought lower or raised higher by pulling on the egg shape; when interrupted the mechanism automatically retracts the lights cable, to bring the light lower the egg must be gently pulled down after interruption.
Condition: Good vintage condition, all elements of the light are original so age related wear must be expected. The light has some small dents, chips, marks and scratches. The ceiling rose has been chipped and the cabling and inner shade closest to the light has discoloured.
