Vintage Danish modernist floating shelf in teak
A vintage modernist floating shelf made of brass and solid teak.
Similar to Poul Cadovius' Royal system designed in 1949 these shelves are supported by the fact that the brackets travel through the shelves and are bolted underneath.
Unlike the Royal system though these shelves do not require wall uprights. The shelves can be attached directly to the wall and are held in place by screws which go through the loop at the top of the wire-metal bracket.
Would work brilliantly as a hallway, bathroom or bedside shelf.
The simplicity of the design means you can gain storage space without filling your room full of bulky furniture.
Condition: Very good. The wire-metal brackets have acquired a wonderful patina and their mottled dull brass coloured surface works excellently with the warmth of the aged teak.
The shelves flat pack for easy transport or postage.
